If you’ve ever been to Taipei you’re probably familiar with Fu Hang Dou Jiang (阜杭豆漿). They’re pretty much the most popular breakfast joint in Taiwan and every travel guide you come across will mention them. Come at any reasonable breakfast time and you’ll be in a line that goes down two flights of stairs and curls around the building. Taiwanese people love waiting in lines, but this one is long even by Taiwan standards. There’s a reason why the line is so long and it’s because this place arguably does the best breakfast in Taipei. You won’t find anything you couldn’t get at any other Taiwanese breakfast place, but they probably do it better here.
The name Fu Hang Dou Jiang means “Fu Hang Soy Milk” so probably get the soy milk. And also get the egg crepe thing. And the long fried donut thing. And the beef wrap thing. And also everything else. Get everything. I don’t know the actual names of any of these things, so maybe just bring up these pictures on your phone and show them. They’ll either give you the food you’re looking for or think you’re a weirdo who’s really proud of your phone.
