When a restaurant has the word “shack” in its name, I’m never quite sure if it’s actually a shack. In the case of Carnitas Snack Shack in San Diego, it actually is a shack. Sort of. You line up and order at a sidewalk-facing shack, but there’s a surprisingly large dedicated outdoor seating area in the back. So while you get the ordering experience of a shack, you get the dining experience of a slightly larger shack.
Pork Belly App
I don’t know why this thing is called the Pork Belly App and not just the Pork Belly. It’s definitely not an app, and if you try using it with your phone you will 100% regret it. If, however, you decide to eat it, oh man are you in for a treat. Perfectly cooked, perfectly fatty, and about as delicious as any pork dish I’ve had.
